A new ILO pubilcation on Climate Change and Labour: the need for a “Just Transition” emphasises the importance of the role of workers in discussion on the social dimensions of sustainable development and climate change policies, and the fact that until recently they have been excluded.

This special issue of the International Journal of Labour Research attempts to fill this gap and includes articles by Anabella Rosemberg on the responses of the international trade union movement, workers rights in small island states as they follow policies for adaption to climate change, ‘BlueGreen’ alliances in the US and the future of rail-based mass transit.
